The Spring Wedding Show "When Indie Meets Couture"

I'm back after a few weeks of heavy making. I made all sorts of new headpieces and jewelry for the Spring Wedding Show at the Drake this past Saturday. It went down a treat. My friend Charlene was a great help to me and I met tons of lovely folks and sold a few items! Loads of beautiful brides-to-be stopped by to look at my wares. Hopefully they will stop by my online shop soon. In the meantime I'm making an "epic" necklace that i cannot wait to finish and post in my shop.

Long Time No See!

All is well in quirkybeauty land. I've been spending my time making up a big order for the gorgeous shop on Queen St. W. in Toronto, Made You Look! I should have that finished soon and in the shop. Each piece takes 1.5 - 5 hours to make so it takes a bit of time.

In the meantime, I've posted new items in my shop. Now I'm offering varying colours of my best selling headpieces. Here's one of them.

New Bon Bon Circus Necklace!

I just adore making these necklaces. Each piece is entirely hand sewn and beaded using terribly fun printed vintage fabric. The circus and deliciously wrapped candies and their multi-colours keep entering my mind while I make these Bon Bon pieces.

New Blooming Bridal Belt/Sash!

Here's a lovely bridal belt all hand made, Hand beaded. It was such a fun project. One morning I just started playing with some fabric and this is what happened!

Thank you Harry!

I have the most wonderful husband. We've been married for almost 1 year now. Soon it will be our paper anniversary!

We both work from home which is a pretty special and wonderful situation. It's amazing to be able to create from home, spend quality time with each other and our kitties and make a cup of coffee or a a pot of soup while at work. Little things like that make it all worthwhile.

Harry is an extremely talented photographer. I am so blessed that Harry is the quirkybeauty photographer. I believe his pictures add to my success. Not only does Harry take the photos but he also helps me with advertising and graphic design. Take a look at his website. He takes advertising and editorial photographs.

I've been working away on some brightly coloured goodies for my shop. The beads almost look like candy before I work with them.

New 4 Bronze Leaves Headpiece

New 4 Bronze Leaves Headpiece!

I've made this headpiece in silver, gold and purple and it is going like hot-cakes (where does that term come from??). So I've decided to create a new range of colours starting with bronze. This is a lovely, understated colour and can co-ordinate with many looks.

Bon Bon Toile De Joie Hand Beaded Grosgrain Bib Necklace

This is a really fun necklace. I can see this worn with a strapless number.

Other new pretty things...

February has been a slow and cold month. Rather that getting my knickers in a knot I've decided to make more product for my shop and start this blog. So I've been sewing, beading and creating away. Adding more headpieces and expanding my necklace range.

My first blog post ever!

Welcome to my very own blog! I'm very excited to start on my blogging adventure. This will be a place where I can share my adventures, influences and new products in my shop.
